Call of the Promethium Sprawl: vergeten te rollen

Imperial intelligence had informed Sergeant MkOmora of the Avengers of Feth squadron that a sect of heretical nuns had established a small chapel in the area. He was advised that the chapel held ample supplies to restock his squad and a surprise raid would meet with minimal resistance from these lightly armed women.

MkOmora selected his most experienced troopers, Coalin with his trusty sniper rifle to provide covering fire, MkLostin with his plasma gun to breach the entrance to the chapel and Covlon to provide additional fire support.

Initial scouting definitely showed movement in the shadowy confines of the building, though the women looked quite bulky under their robes, either their food stores were well stocked or they were suffering from some horrible mutations. Trusting on the information provided by imperial intelligence MkOmora set up his troops. Coalin on the high ground to cover any of the nuns moving on the upper floors and ready to take down any cultist foolish enough to show her face. Covlon was positioned in a nearby building that provided ample cover from where he could provide suppressive fire. MkLostin had a clear line of fire at the building entrance and he himself stood ready to rush in and grab whatever supplies he could.

Unfortunately due to atmospheric conditions the imperial intelligence liaison assigned to MkOmora hadn’t been able to double check his intel with the high command. If he had, high command would have certainly informed him to cease and desist immediately because new information had shown that this chapel was in fact a forward command post maintained by the Sisters of the Holy Sepulchre. But unfortunately MkOmora’s imperial intelligence liaison had not been made aware of this new information.

Thus it was that when sister superior Djena stepped out of the entrance of the chapel, she caught the tell-tale glare of a red dot laser sight from the corner of her eye. All she could do was to duck for cover as several plasma shots exploded around her. By the Emperor’s grace she emerged unscathed and the alarm was raised throughout the building. Unaware of the exact number of their assailants her fellow sisters took position and returned fire, forcing the plasma gunner to dive for cover. With righteous anger and protected by her faith, and power armor, Djena advanced on the sergeant.

As the sound of bolter fire erupted from the building and the wrathful sister superior strode into full view despite the plasma shots fired in her direction, sergeant MkOmora cursed the imperial intelligence liaison and ran for cover, firing his bolt pistol as he did so but again unable to penetrate her armor. At the same time Coalin was likewise finding his shots ineffective against the power armor of the adepta sororitas but thankfully they remained unaware of his position. Covlon provided covering fire from the confines of his position while remaining out of sight of the sisters.

Having noticed fire erupting from the side building but none of her sisters able to return fire sister Sigrid advanced towards it with her heavy flamer while sister Ekaterina covered her position. Unable to accurately locate the shooter, she proceed to torch the entire building using up her supply of promethium but her efforts were rewarded by the scream of a heretic who feels the licking of righteous flame. At the same time sister Cossette again opened fire on the plasma gunner with her storm bolter forcing him to maintain his precarious position, taking advantage of her fellow sister’s suppressive fire sister Viola finally put him out of his misery. Meanwhile sister Elisabeth opened fire on the sergeant to relieve her sister superior but was unable to get a clear shot as she was plagued by return fire from an as yet unknown combatant.

Finding his position quickly becoming unattainable sergeant MkOmora sounding the retreat to salvage what was left of his team.

Victory for the Sisters of the Holy Sepulchre and they salvaged 2 Promethium.

The battle for Campina has begun.

Call of the Promethium Sprawl:
Sisters: All is quiet
Avengers: Corrosive slick

After the brazen attack on their chapel by an as yet unidentified assailant the Sisters of the Holy Sepulchre set out in search of this new enemy of the Faith to deliver righteous retribution. It wasn’t long before they found the rendez-vous point where Sergeant MkOmora was debriefing the rest of his squad while Covlon and MkLostin recovered from their injuries. By miracle neither of them had suffered serious injuries and were on their way to re-join the rest of the squad.

Identifying the equipment and camo gear worn by the soldiers as Tanith uniforms, the sisters determined that this was a band of heretics that had cravenly ambushed a loyal guardsmen squadron and stolen their gear. Seeing an opportunity to deliver the Emperor’s Wrath to these heretics, sister superior Djena ordered her squad to surround them for an ambush. Moving carefully, as the whole area was covered in some slippery, corrosive substance, the sisters quietly took position.

All was quiet until suddenly the silence was broken by the hail of bolter fire impacting all around the Avengers of Feth. The recruits MkVoll and Morant went down in this initial hail of fire and the balance could have been much worse if the sisters’ aim hadn’t been thrown off by the shadows and the concealment provided by their camo gear. While Morant learned a valuable lesson about keeping his head down even during debriefings, MkVoll was more seriously injured and would need more time to recover from his wounds.

MkOmora ordered his squad to duck for cover and return fire. By sheer luck it happened that this was when Covlon and MkLostin arrived and outmanoeuvred the attacker. MkLostin opened fire with his plasma gun on sister Cossette who was the most immediate treat with her storm bolter. Two plasma shots impacted the unfortunate sister’s armour and she went down. One shot dissipated despite penetrating her armour while the other as by miracle failed to seriously injure her, but Cossette would be out for the rest of the fight.

As the Avengers of Feth slunk into the shadows to take firing positions The Sisters of the Holy Sepulchre suddenly found themselves short of targets and forced to reposition themselves. Likewise taking advantage of the shadows the sisters moved in for the kill, a dangerous game of cat and mouse had begun. Any shot fired was answered by returning fire from a different position. Sister Viola was taken down by a carefully placed shot from Coalin’s sniper rifle, leaving her severely injured. While sister Ekaterina forced recruit Varosk to dive for cover with bolter fire, causing him to slip and fall two stories down. Miraculously Varosk rejoined the squad after the battle, having learned a valuable lesson about diving away from the edge of a platform.

Comfortable in their secure firing position Covlon and MkLostin where they could provide valuable suppressive fire to cover their beleaguered squad mates, they were unaware of sister Sigrid who was quietly outmanoeuvring them. Seeing no other option than to expose herself in order to relieve her fellow sisters, she stepped out into the open and with a loud whoosh engulfed the two guardsmen in righteous flame. MkLostin was barely able to duck out of the way but Covlon was less fortunate and remained down, facing a painful recovery.

Despite their recovery from the initial assault MkOmora found it impossible to maintain squad coherency and was forced to order the retreat so they could regroup.

Victory for the Sisters of the Holy Sepulchre. They claimed 4 promethium but spend one to recruit and equip sister Jacqueline.

The Sisters of the Holy Sepulchre now have 5 promethium
The Avengers of Feth now have 2 promethium
